How to play Mines
- Pick your board. Grid sizes from 5×5 to 8×8, and a mine count from 1 up to one less than the tile count. More mines = bigger payouts per reveal.
- Set your bet — chips from 10 to 1,000 coins — then tap any tile. The first tap places the bet and reveals in one motion.
- Keep revealing or cash out. Every gem raises your multiplier; the status bar shows what the next tile would pay. Cash out any time after the first gem.
- Hit a mine and the bet is gone. The board shows where every mine was hiding. Clear every gem and the game pays you out automatically.
One honest detail: all mine positions are decided the instant you bet, drawn uniformly at random. The board never reacts to your choices, and no tile is safer than any other.
The multiplier ladder
Here is the real ladder for the default board — 5×5 with 4 mines — exactly as this game pays it, printed in full. The multiplier is the flip side of your survival odds: rarer streaks pay proportionally more.
| Gems revealed | Chance of getting there | Multiplier | 100 coins pays |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | 84.0% | 1.15x | 115 |
| 2 | 70.0% | 1.39x | 138 |
| 3 | 57.8% | 1.68x | 167 |
| 4 | 47.3% | 2.05x | 205 |
| 5 | 38.3% | 2.53x | 253 |
| 6 | 30.6% | 3.17x | 316 |
| 8 | 18.8% | 5.16x | 515 |
| 10 | 10.8% | 8.99x | 898 |
| 12 | 5.7% | 17.16x | 1,716 |
| 15 | 1.7% | 58.43x | 5,843 |
| 21 (full clear) | 1 in 12,650 | 1000x | 100,000 |
Change the board and the ladder reprices instantly — more mines steepen it, bigger grids stretch it. The game shows your current and next multiplier live while you play, so the ladder is never a mystery mid-round.
Mines strategy, in three honest sentences
Pick a stop point before you tap — the whole game is deciding when "one more gem" stops being worth it. Use the mine count as your variance dial: 1–3 mines for long steady sessions, 10+ when you want each reveal to matter. And ignore anyone selling tile patterns — placement is uniformly random, every time.
